Anna Peterson’s teaching and research focus on social and environmental ethics, animal studies, and the role of religion in social change. Her most recent books are With God on Our Side: Religion, Social Movements, and Social Change (De Gruyter 2024), Cats and Conservationists: The Debate Over Who Owns the Outdoors, with Dara Wald (Purdue 2020), and Works Righteousness: Material Practice in Ethical Theory (Oxford, 2020). Presently she is working on several collaborative research projects related to teaching environmental values and practices and trust in American higher education. She is also co-editing the De Gruyter Handbook of Religion and Social Change.

Glen Billesbach is a Postdoctoral Associate in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In this position, he contributes to research and teaching at the intersection of political theory, international relations, and science and technology studies.
Glen’s scholarship employs historical, philosophical, and qualitative-interpretive methods—including interviews with scientists and bureaucrats from organizations such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change—to investigate the challenges and opportunities surrounding emerging technologies. His current research focuses on the role of technology and expertise in global climate politics as well as how digital self-tracking tools shape self-interpretation and political agency.
His courses engage foundational and contemporary themes in political thought, sustainability, digital rights and principles, and experiential learning. As a part of Sustainability Studies, he teaches the gateway class (Facets of Sustainability) and advanced courses on the politics of nature and technology.
