CLAS Giving Day Names Sustainability Studies a Featured Fund and Calls for Community Support!
Sustainability Studies at UF is resilient, and we have some great news! We have been selected as a CLAS Giving Day featured fund that will allow us to further support student research and experiential learning. That is only the half of it, though: we are happy to announce that Dr. Genie Stowers has generously donated a challenge gift, because she believes in the future of Sustainability Studies at UF! We hope you will pass this message along or consider making a donation yourself to keep the energy going on Gator Nation Giving Day.
On Thursday, February 19, Gators across the globe will come together to celebrate what makes us one of a kind: our people, our passion and our purpose. This year, we have a NEW Sustainability Studies General Fund, which directly supports our students by strengthening our interdisciplinary curriculum and expanding opportunities for students to build skills through hands-on learning and collaborations with faculty. As mentioned, we have a special Giving Day challenge! Thanks to generous support from Dr. Genie Stowers ’79, a $1,000 gift will be unlocked in support of the Sustainability Studies Program once our fund receives 30 gifts. Help us reach our goal and unlock this gift!
The Sustainability Studies Program prepares students to tackle ecological, social, and economic challenges in a rapidly changing world. Known for their passion to create positive change, our students benefit tremendously from research, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities. As the program enters an exciting period of reinvention, your support on Giving Day will help us build an endowed scholarship fund that will give our students access to these experiences.
