Alumni Spotlight: Kelsey Grantzer

BS ’14 Liberal Arts & Sciences (Major: Sustainability Studies), BA ’14 College of Journalism and Mass Communications (Major: Journalism)

Kelsey Grentzer HeadshotKelsey graduated from the University of Florida in 2014 with bachelor’s degrees in Sustainability Studies and Journalism. During her time at UF, she worked as a freelance journalist and photographer, often covering stories about solar energy, composting and other environmental topics. She also interned with UF’s Sustainability Studies department and with Holbrook Travel, where she helped promote ecotourism and educational environmental studies trips.
After graduating with her undergraduate degrees, Kelsey lived in the Netherlands for over two years, where she worked in marketing communications and completed her master’s degree in Mass Communication, specializing in Global Strategic Communication. Kelsey has since returned to Florida, where she is now the Florida Communications Coordinator for the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. In this role, she supports the nonprofit organization’s efforts to advocate for solar energy use, energy efficiency, electric vehicle use and climate change mitigation strategies. Her role focuses on social media, media relations, and producing communications materials for the organization’s initiatives. Kelsey is thrilled to be able to combine her passions for sustainability and communications to advocate for environmental solutions.
